Electrolube launches 13 NEW products at Productronica 2009

A gathering of over 1100 global manufacturers in spite of the economic recession exhibited at this year's show, with over 28,000 visitors attending. It is still the largest trade fair for electronics production and test.

UK manufacturer Electrolube exhibited and launched thirteen new products ranging from Thermal RTVs and Cleaners to Non-VOC conformal coatings.

HTCX and HTCPX are enhanced versions of the well established products HTC and HTCP. Both HTCX and HTCPX feature improved thermal conductivity, lower oil bleed, and lower evaporation weight loss compared with HTC and HTCP.

An additional product to the well established Safewash range Safewash Total is a specially formulated blend of non-flammable solvents which form a micro-emulsion when mixed with water. Designed for cleaning printed circuit boards, it is ideal for the removal of leaded, lead-free and no-clean flux residues. The cleaner is also suitable for the removal of pastes and adhesives from screens, stencils, boards and accessories as well as general degreasing applications.

TFA - Toluene Free Acrylic has been developed for the protection of printed circuit boards, electronic components and printed panels against humidity and environmental attack. Formulated to meet many of today's commercial applications, TFA provides a transparent, flexible solution with a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C and is touch dry in approximately 20 minutes.

DCA-Fast Dry a modified silicone conformal coating that is touch dry in 20 minutes. Increased solids content of the DCA-FD gives 35% greater coverage per litre compared to standard DCA, to provide a significant waste and cost saving per substrate. Fast-Dry DCA has a very wide operating temperature range and is suitable for a wide range of commercial and military PCB applications, particularly in harsh, high humidity and salt-spray conditions.

ER2218 is a two part encapsulation compound, designed to meet the highest level of flame retardency according to UL94. It incorporates a novel flame retardant, resulting in an ultra-low viscosity flame retardant formulation providing application solutions for a vast array of products.

The introduction of Electrolube's Non-VOC conformal coating has generated widespread interest leading to repeated demands for the product in numerous formats.

NVOC offers many environmental and user benefits, such as greater coverage, less waste, no solvent emissions upon cure and no expensive curing equipment is required. The high viscosity version has been developed for applications where a thicker coating or manual application is required. These include, brush, dip and high viscosity selective spray applications. Both the standard NVOC and the high viscosity version are suitable for atomising and swirl selective coat applications.

The gel version is a single part, thixotropic material designed for glob-top applications where the coating should not flow once applied. The thixotropic gel cures at room or elevated temperatures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture and incorporates a UV trace to aid inspection. It is ideally suited for applications where components are difficult to coat due to size, shape and position. Applied through a syringe or needle applicator, it offers all of the benefits of the standard NVOC material, including excellent adhesion, chemical resistance and electrical properties, in a gel form.

The 200ml aerosol version utilises the standard NVOC coating to provide an easy solution to manual application. This addition makes the NVOC range the most versatile solvent-based alternative available on the conformal coating market today.

The Productronica show this year was a great success, generating many new business enquiries. Although visitor numbers were down on the previous show in 2007, the quality of the visitors were extremely good. Our research and development teams in the UK and China have worked extremely hard to produce a range of excellent innovative products attracting the attention of current customers and new business opportunities from around the globe. Ron Jakeman, Group Managing Director.

Electrolube also announced during the show a new consultant in the USA, Mr John A. Bova who is well known within the industry and will assist in further developing sales networks in the US, Canada and Mexico.
