Southern Manufacturing Show 2015 Rundown
We're thrilled to have just returned from the Southern Manufacturing Show (SME) in Farnborough, UK, where we finally unveiled the revolutionary new Air duster Zero to a very healthy footfall indeed!
A couple of our European Technical Sales Engineers, Arthur (pictured left), and Cedric (pictured right), were in charge of the stand, and provided a go-to resource for all things Electrolube. Our Marketing Manager, Karen Harrison, came down on the first day of the show to give a press conference on the Air Duster Zero, meanwhile letting her new Digital Marketing team loose to cause havoc while on our first foray to an Electrolube exhibition.
The Air duster Zero wasn’t the only product that got the crowds worked up, as the LED market continuously flooded our stand with enquiries – particularly about our new Polyurethane Resins, UR5634, a transparent Resin; and UR5635, a hazy effect Resin, which are both ideal for LED potting applications. It seems we’re really starting to set the LED industry alight!
Our Conformal Coatings range was also a big hit at the show, with a great general interest from the Aerospace industry about their extreme environmental applications, particularly UVCL. AFA, which we debuted a few months ago at Electronica in Germany, also generated a lot of attention, as it has a number of useful properties and doesn’t use toxic solvents like Toluene and Xylene, which can be hazardous during the application of Conformal Coatings.
UR5634 and UR5635 side by side – do you want a clear or hazy LED light?
This was our seventh consecutive year exhibiting at the Southern Manufacturing Show, but it’s the first time the event has gone on for 3 days – it normally lasts only 2 days. This gave us plenty of opportunity to look around the show and see plenty of familiar faces, such as a few of our longstanding customers, distributors, and industry partners, such a dispense equipment manufacturers.
Our distributors, Solder Connection, proudly displaying the Electrolube branding
We were also happy to see our branding wasn’t only limited to our stand – it was surreptitiously spilling out to other areas of the show; our distributors, Solder Connection for instance, were proudly displaying Electrolube products and branding on their stand. Onlookers seemed to be noticing, too, as a few admirers throughout the show came to the stand to congratulate us on our branding.
The Southern Manufacturing Show (SME) is aimed at the British Manufacturing industry, but you could tell how much it had grown by the large European presence, notably German. Even though there was a bustling and diverse headcount, our competitors seemed few and far between, and only cemented the impression that Electrolube is the market leader. One competitor who specialised solely in Resins, for example, could not even offer an electrically conductive Resin when probed by one of our undercover marketers – whereas we can! Electrical conductivity is not needed often, but when it is, we can offer it within a tailored solution that suits all the specifications that you need it to.
Luckily, the sheer size of this years' SME didn’t affect anyone’s ability to find us – we were right next to the entrance! But just to be certain, of course, we made sure to post a Vine showing our stand while we were at the show...
