Electrolube Debut New Thermal Management Solutions at LED Expo in India

Electrolube, the complete solutions provider of electro-chemicals, will feature thermal management and coating solutions for LED manufacturers at the LED Expo held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India on the 19th-21st December. Electrolube’s optically clear silicone resin, SC3001, is specifically designed to meet a wide array of challenges facing the LED industry. The flexible two-part encapsulation compound helps to dissipate heat generated from LEDs and protects and insulates components from the threats of harsh and challenging environments, including moisture, chemicals and general contamination. SC3001 provides a complete barrier against such environments whilst still providing outstanding performance. The resin is ideally suited to the needs of the LED industry where optical clarity is vital and features a number of benefits including low viscosity, which allows ease of application even in thin films, and exceptional electrical properties.

Electrolube’s latest advancements for LED heat transfer applications include the optically clear polyurethane resin UR5562, a semi-rigid resin for potting LEDs, and heat transfer compounds, HTS, HTSP and HTC, which provide superior thermal conductivity even at high temperatures and are available in both non-silicone or silicone thermal pastes. The non-yellowing acrylic conformal coating, HPA, is a fast-drying, flexible coating, designed to meet the demanding requirements of many applications found in the defence and aerospace industries. The transparent coating is ideal for LED applications and those exposed to UV light, providing excellent clarity and high performance in a wide range of challenging conditions.  

The solvent-free RTV (room temperature vulcanising) products, TCER and TCOR, are low in odour and cure upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. These silicone RTVs are designed to fill the gap between the device and the heat sink and reduce thermal resistance at the boundary between the two. They can be applied around components such as capacitors and power resistors to dissipate excess heat to heat-sinks, avoiding any overheating and subsequent failures.  The oxime-cure RTV, TCOR, is ideal for spot application, while TCER, an ethanol-cure version, is easier to spread over a wider contact area.
