The thermal management of the LED and the unit is a vitally important consideration for the reliability of an LED unit. A variation of just one single degree centigrade can effect both the life of the LED, (the higher the temperature the unit is running at the faster the luminaire degrades) as well as the efficiency, ( the lower the temperature, the more efficient the luminaire is at producing light).

With a single degree centigrade of heat having such a large effect on the efficiency and the lifetime of an LED Luminaire, the thermal interface material chosen for the LED design is of vital importance.

GP300 is a silicone based thermal interface gap pad designed for easy application and good thermal conductivity. It comes in 200x200mm square sections, which can be cut down to size if required and is available in a variety of thicknesses S = 0.5mm SL = 1mm. As we advise for all thermal interface products, it is best to get in touch with our technical support team in order to ensure the correct material and application method is supplied.

GP300 is suitable for a wide variety of applications due to its high thermal conductivity value of 3W/m.K. It is best suited to applications where the pressure of the contact surface is high, thus ensuring that the material fills all the air pockets in the interface.
